My Inspirations

As an artist probably my biggest inspiration has been my dad. As a kid i would draw and doodle all the time and I think that comes from seeing the artwork that my dad produced with coloured pencils. He has always been very willing to teach me new techniques especially with coloured pencils which has helped me greatly.

I am largely self taught and i find my self being inspired by many different artists daily. On social media i follow a number of aspiring artists with very distict styles that inspire me to try new techniques. I enjoy looking at what other young artists are putting out there and how they go about advertising their artwork. I have leared quite a few techniques from seeing artworks from these artists and i think it is helping to broden my spectrum and give me a variety of new skills.

Some of my favourite artists include M.C. Escher, Michelangelo, and Vermeer. All very different artists that inspire me in different ways. I love how Escher uses illusion in his artworks in such a brilliant way, his artwork is so different and visually stunning which is what makes him probably my most favourite artist. Michelangelo is my favourite renaisance artist mostly because of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, learning about it in art history I was just so in awe about how stunning it was and it really amazes me. Finally, i love how refined and perfect Vermeer's work is, the detail he puts in to everything is so beautiful and I love his work.
