Sea Turtles

Oil and Water Colour on Canvas

This Artwork is currently being shown at Museum London for the Art of Nature Student Art Gallery. Which will be open until May 3rd.

My inspiration for this Artwork was my love for sea turtles and the ocean. I really wanted to capture the beauty and the bright colours of sea turtles and show them in a unique way. I did this by mixing the oil paints to get a variety of colours and displaying the turtles to make them look like photographs.

True Colours
Acrylic on Canvas

This artwork has been featured at two public art galleries both in 2014. It was shown at the Skin Deep Student Art Gallery in the spring and again in the summer at Tourism London for the Pride Festival.

This piece was inspired by the idea of positive thinking. I wanted to take away the subjects senses (closed eyes, no ears) and put her in a very simple peaceful state. The black spirals in the background represent negativity and how by thinking positvely she is turning the negativity into positive feelings about herself, as shown in the rainbow and the white spirals. This piece shows that by blocking out negativity you can let your true colours show through.
